What is 5S workplace organisation?

5S is a lean manufacturing methodology: Sort (remove unnecessary items), Set in Order (organise logically), Shine (clean and inspect), Standardise (create consistent standards), Sustain (maintain the system). Colour-coded storage bins, labelled shelving and designated locations are practical 5S tools.

What size storage bins are available?

We supply storage bins from small parts containers (0.5 litre for nuts and bolts) through medium picking bins (5-15 litres) to large container bins (30-50 litres). Available in standard 5S colour sets — typically red, yellow, green, blue and grey.

What is the load capacity of industrial storage bins?

Small parts bins typically hold up to 5-10kg. Medium shelf bins handle 15-25kg. Large container bins are rated to 30-50kg. Heavy items should be stored at waist height to reduce manual handling injury risk.

Can storage bins be stacked?

Yes, most polypropylene storage bins stack securely when empty. Louvred panel systems allow bins to be hung on wall-mounted panels or free-standing frames. Euro stacking containers (600x400mm) are the standard for industrial storage and picking operations.

What materials are industrial storage bins made from?

Most storage bins are injection-moulded polypropylene — lightweight, chemical resistant and available in multiple colours. For heavier applications, HDPE bins offer greater impact resistance. Metal bins are used where fire resistance, hygiene or very high loads are required.
